Creative practice

Where the stories get made.

Directing for stage and screen, dramaturgy, story development and script consulting — the craft of giving stories their shape.

What the work includes

Three ways in

Directing

Stage and film direction, from the first table read to opening night — plus creative direction for work that already exists but needs a clearer point of view.

Dramaturgy

Structural and thematic support for a script as it becomes a production: what the text is actually doing, and whether the production is serving it.

Story development

Shaping raw material — an idea, a draft, a true event — into a story that works on the stage or the screen.

How it runs

The path from enquiry to opening night

Every creative engagement moves through the same stages, so you always know where you are.

1 · Enquiry and consultation

Tell me what you have and what you want it to become

2 · Script and brief reading

I read the material properly before promising anything

3 · Scope and proposal

What the work is, what it costs, what it does not include

4 · Agreement and deposit

Terms set before any work begins

5 · Production

Rehearsal, blocking, revision, technical work, notes

6 · Delivery and proof

The production, and the record of it for both of us

Fees for directing and dramaturgy are agreed per project. Ask for the current range — pricing is not published here because scope varies too much for a single number to be honest.

Bring me the script, the idea, or the problem.

You do not need a finished brief. You need enough to describe what you are trying to make.
